Partied too hard on West Street last night? Convinced nothing will get those hungover fellers out of bed? Get the lads up and at 'em with the prospect of a day's climbing!
Climbing is one of those awesome sports that pretty much everyone can do. It's the perfect addition to a Sheffield stag do. Under the watchful eye of enthusiastic, experienced instructors, you'll learn to boulder and traverse before moving on to the bigger climbs. Once you've got these core skills down, you'll be able to climb higher and harder than you ever thought possible!
Sheffield is a brilliant stag do location: you get the bright lights of the city at night, and the imposing hills of the Peak District during the day. We're putting you lot through your paces at an undisclosed location in the Hathersage/Castleton area, which is packed with all the boulders and rocky faces you need!
If you've never climbed before, you might be tempted to use your arms to haul yourself up the rocks. Don't! When you climb, your arms and hands are for finding safe positions, and balancing your body as you prepare to move your feet to new footholds. All the actual lifting work is done by your thighs. Keep your feet firmly planted, and push through the upper legs and lower back to get up to the next level.
Worried you won't make it all the way to the top? These guys know exactly how to instil confidence in even the most inexperienced climber. By the end of the afternoon, you'll be conquering ascents you would never have dreamed you could do. And that's a cue for a massive fist-pump. Bring it on!
