Boom! There can't be many cooler things than an archery target that erupts in a shower of sparks and flames when you hit it. Fire crossbow bolts and standard arrows into a series of reactive bullseyes, and feel like an action hero when they burst, pop, or even move!
Archery is one of the oldest sports in the world. Its unique combination of strength, skill and precision also make it one of the best stag weekend activities in the country. We've never met a man who doesn't secretly want to be lethal with a badass medieval weapon!
The instructors at this outdoor centre near Reading really know their stuff. They'll teach the boys to nock the arrow or load the crossbow bolt, take up a firing stance, and let fly. Learn how to control your nerves, use the tension of the bow to maximum effect, and adjust your aim for wind conditions.
Did we mention that these targets move? In addition to the awesome exploding bullseyes on offer, your group could get a crack at hitting moving objects! Track the progress of your prey, and release the string quickly and confidently to take it down. Viking war-cries are acceptable behaviour at this point...
You could spend the whole of your stag weekend annoying barmaids in Reading town centre - or you could head for the countryside for a few hours, and shoot stuff with arrows! The beer will still be there when you get back, and it'll taste all the better when mixed with the sweet taste of victory.
