Gran Canaria Fishing Day Trip

If your best mate likes his angling he'll love a day fishing for carp at Lake Chira. It'll be one of the top highlights of his Gran Canaria stag do. Swap cold and soggy England for the sun and blue skies of the Canaries, and fish without having to wear about 20 layers of clothing. Non-anglers are welcome, this is a great day trip regardless of your level of ability. Journey along the island's scenic mountain trails to the lake, cast off and then see what bites.

Lake Chira is one of the best carp fishing locations in the world. It would be rude not to go. If the conditions work in your favour, you could catch one of those whacking great beauties you see guys practically bench pressing on the cover of magazines like Anglers Mail and Total Carp. Many an angler has beaten his PB at this lake; it's such a sweet spot. Make sure at least one of your phones is fully charged when you set off because you never know!

You get a full day of fishing in. English-speaking guides who know the lake very well will pick you up either from or very near your accommodation in the morning and then drop you off again afterwards. All the equipment is supplied, plus bait and some flies and lures. If you want to use particular flies and lures you can bring your own along. A light lunch is provided.
