Hvar Snorkelling

A stag weekend in Hvar can take its toll. For such a small island, this Croatian banger has a serious party scene. And that means one thing: headaches.

So the question is, what are you going to do when you wake up feeling like an otter's backside? Lesser men than you might curl up in a ball, pull the covers over their head and wait for night. But that would be missing the point.

Hvar is surrounded by warm, stunning coastal waters. Where the white sands slope gently down into the Adriatic Sea, an intrepid chap can meet all sorts of underwater life. Pop on a snorkelling mask, don a pair of flippers, and get in the ocean!

Snorkelling is a fantastic stag party activity for all sorts of reasons. First, you don't need to take any boring classes before you take to the water. Snorkelling is as simple as breathing. You just suck the pipe, and as long as you don't dip the top end under the surface, you'll get lungfuls of fresh Croatian air.

Second, it's remarkably chilled. Basically, you'll be floating around in a pristine bay, checking out crazy marine animals thanks to the perfect vision afforded by your mask. A gentle kick of the fins sends you off in the direction you want, and that's all you need to do!

There are tons of amazing things to see in the Adriatic. Corals, fish, sea turtles - even dolphins. It's like being in Blue Planet, only for real.

Slap on the sunscreen to prevent burns, don your loudest board shorts and get amongst it!

Top tip: spit in the inside of the mask before you put it on. It helps keep it clear.
