Edinburgh Archery

There's archery and then there's archery in the sprawling grounds of a country house just outside Edinburgh! You couldn't ask for a better location than this for a stag party activity. Feel like Scottish lairds as you master this Olympic sport. Kilts optional but hey, you're on a stag in Scotland - it'd be rude not to, right?

Fancy dress aside, you'll learn basic archery techniques with professionals, and then start nailing the targets. Absolute beginners are welcome; everything you need to get started is included, which makes archery a winner with stag parties of all skill and fitness levels. Everyone from your best mate to your dad will give it the thumbs up.

Discover how to adopt the classic archery stance, straddle the line, nock, set your shot up, load, hold, aim, release and then follow through. There are 12 steps and the aim is to combine the lot in one smooth move. It's about staying cool under pressure, but archery still gets the adrenaline going big time!

No stag weekend would be complete without a slice of competitive action. When you're all up to speed, the instructors will start chalking up the scores.
