It's also a brilliant way to get a break from the beaches and keep the chaps safely out of the bars in São João for a few hours.
There's so much more to this part or Portugal than the turquoise seas, scorching sun and skull-crushing hangovers, you know. Swap board shorts and flip flops for safety harnesses and screams of terror as your group tries to conquer all the obstacles of this epic high flying assault course.
The rope bridges alone will make your time in the Algarve memorable, and we're not even talking about those wobbly, slat-filled things you've seen on movies like Indiana Jones. No, lads; these rope bridges are simple tow lines, one beneath your feet and the other suspended above your head. You'll need a proper set of cojones just to take the first step off the platform.
Conquering the rope bridge is tough enough, but don't think you can rest on your laurels once you reach the other side! The next trick on the list is the rappelling section. if you've never heard of rappelling, it's basically super-fast abseiling. Are you ready for your mates to scream like little girls? At the end of the course, you'll find an insane zip line obstacle. If you want to return to terra firma, it's your only option. Clip yourself in and take a leap!
