World Snooker event ideal for Sheffield stag party

Stag parties in Sheffield who enjoy watching snooker may like to visit the Crucible for the World Snooker Championship.

And there is now a record breaking reason for stag parties to visit the venue in Sheffield.

Steve Davis has just beaten Adrian Gunnell in the city and is to take part in the championship for a record 30th time in April.

He said: "There was a time when I felt unbeatable, back in the 1980s, until a certain young Scottish gentleman by the name of Stephen Hendry came along."

Davis has won the event six times, so stag parties in Sheffield may wish to see whether the 52-year-old can do it again.

He added that he is "absolutely delighted" to be going back to the Crucible.

Opened back in 1971, the auditorium sees many theatre performances, but it perhaps best known for its snooker championship.

Men on a stag weekend in Sheffield throughout the year may wish to see a show there.

The views are excellent, with no audience member ever being more than 22 metres from the stage.
