Cricket event could provide summer sun for Cardiff stag weekend

Cricket fans on stag parties in Cardiff may be pleased to hear that the city has been chosen to host the KnockoutTwenty20 event.

It will be held in the capital's Bute Park between August 8th and the 11th, which could be the location for the perfect stag weekend in Cardiff, especially if the sun is out.

Up to 16 amateur clubs from across the UK will play in front of spectators.

Speaking to the South Wales Echo, Richie Gledson, managing director of Sky High Sports, said: "Cardiff is second to none as a sporting venue for cricket. There are four pitches next to each other in Bute Park, which is in walking distance of the city centre."

He added that he was confident the cricketing event would be a "great weekend".

After a day spent watching cricket, those on a stag weekend in Cardiff may want to make the two-mile trip to the centre to visit bars at places including Mill Lane and Greyfriars Road.
