Stag parties in Edinburgh can take a tumble through Dr Who's vortex

Dr Who geeks on a stag weekend in Edinburgh may get the chance to meet the latest star Matt Smith and his sidekick Karen Gillan.

The pair and their Tardis are to visit five locations across the UK in a meet-and-greet for enthusiasts of the BBC show.

People on a stag weekend in Edinburgh who are fans of the programme may get a chance to ask the questions they have always wanted answering as the show's stars will appear over the Easter weekend.

The Doctor Who trailer will be shown in 3D, while stag parties in Edinburgh up for a laugh can get the chance to take a tumble through a giant vortex.

Piers Wenger, executive producer and head of drama at BBC Wales, said: "This is a great opportunity for the new Doctor and his companion to interface directly with the people who matter most to Doctor Who: the fans."

The rest of an Edinburgh stag weekend over Easter can be spent - by those interested in other dimensions - at the Edinburgh International Science Festival, which is held between April 3rd and 17th across a number of venues in the city.
