Stag parties in Bristol could join Sir Ian Botham on charity walk
A stag weekend in Bristol could get off to a charitable start for those who fancy joining cricketing legend Sir Ian Botham on his walk for childhood leukemia.
The cricketing star will spend ten consecutive days walking through ten destinations and those on a stag weekend in Bristol can join him at Ashton Court, which is two miles from the centre.
After walking for approximately five miles round the park for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research, individuals on a Bristol stag weekend may want to recuperate at one of the many pubs in the city for a well-deserved meal and drink.
Sir Ian is starting his Bristol leg at Marks & Spencers in Broadmead, before walking ten miles through the city to join members of the public at Ashton Court.
Father Steve Tovey, who lost his seven-year-old son Ryan to leukemia last year, told the Bristol Evening Post: "I think what Ian Botham has done for the cause is brilliant. I saw on the news that he was going to do another walk and I wanted to get involved."
Mr Tovey will be joining Sir Ian - also known as Beefy - for the Ashton Park section of the fundraiser.
