Aussie rockers could kick-start stag weekend in Newcastle

Those on a stag weekend in Newcastle may enjoy a night of rock and roll with Australian band Wolfmother.

On Friday January 15th, the city's O2 Academy plays host to the rockers, with tickets to see the band costing £17.50, which could leave stag parties with plenty of extra cash to spend on their weekend away.

Stag parties in Newcastle that would prefer a different sound to listen to may prefer to catch Echo and The Bunnymen, who play the venue on December 14th.

The venue is based on the city's Westgate Road. The former bingo hall was restored in October 2005 and since then has played host to bands from around the world most nights of the week.

Having recently released their new album Cosmic Egg, Wolfmother are set to complete a full UK tour in January, including stops in Leeds, Birmingham and London.
