Bristol stag weekend revellers could head to art show
An art exhibition which includes rocks from the Arctic could be an ideal place for those on a stag weekend in Bristol to visit.
Artist Alex Hartley is set to travel to the Svalbard archipelago, which is north of Norway, and collect a number of rocks. He will then sail back to Bristol with the rocks on a barge and put them together on a floating island that will form the centre of an art show.
Entitled "Nowhere Island", the art event is designed to raise awareness of climate change and could be a good event for those planning a stag weekend in Bristol to visit.
And stags will have plenty of time to plan the rest of their stag night in Bristol, as the exhibition will not be open until the Olympic sailing event of the 2012 Games.
Commenting on the exhibition, the artist said: "It is slightly absurd, but it is really easy to engage people with. When you see the island there will be magic in it."
