Stage show of novel could be ideal for stag night in Nottingham

Men heading for a stag night in Nottingham could be interested in taking in a show and adding a touch of culture to their pre-wedding celebrations.

Running until October 17th, the city will be hosting a stage version of the well-known book Kes, which was made into a critically-acclaimed film by Ken Loach in 1970.

The "coming of age" show tells the story of Billy Casper, who due to his father's disappearance in his early life and uncaring mother, is left to look after himself and defend himself against his bullying older sibling Jud.

One day, Billy finds a kestrel chick and learns to look after it, which gives him an escape from his real life situation.

Theatre-loving men on a stag night in Nottingham could head to Theatre Square in the city centre to check out the show, which stars a number of familiar faces from the world of British TV drama.
