Bournemouth aiming for Newquay stag weekend surfers
Bournemouth is hoping to steal surf fans away from stag weekends in Newquay with its new artificial reef.
The resort's £3 million artificial surf reef is drawing ever closer to completion and the aim is to attract surfers heading on a Newquay stag weekend to Boscombe, reports the Cornish Guardian.
Toby Margetts, tourism spokesman for Bournemouth District Council, told the newspaper that surfing has always been popular with lads on Bournemouth stag weekends and now the aim is to bring more to the town.
"We are aiming ourselves against the likes of Newquay and will be hoping to steal some of the crowd it has there. We want people to come over to Boscombe rather than going to Newquay," he added.
As well as finding great surf, guys going on a Bournemouth stag night will also find the hottest beach babes in the whole of the UK, according to Zoo magazine.
