Pear cider popular on Newcastle stag weekends

Boys on stag weekends in Newcastle, stag weekends in Sheffield and stag weekends in Cardiff are drinking more pear cider than ever before, supermarket chain Tesco has revealed.

The drink is one of the most fashionable around, with the market for it growing from £3.5 million to £46 million in two years, thanks to lads on Newcastle stag weekends, Sheffield stag weekends and Cardiff stag weekends polishing off more of it.

Tesco beer and cider buyer Ian Targett said that guys on stag nights in Cardiff, stag nights in Newcastle and stag parties in Sheffield have realised that cider is not necessarily a cheap and nasty drink.

"For decades, cider suffered from a downmarket image but people are now discovering there's an amazing variety of flavours depending on what apples are used," he stated.

In other news, those on stag celebrations may soon have to enjoy their drinks out of a plastic glass after the Home Office commissioned designers to create a new receptacle to stop glasses being used as weapons.
