Lads on Bristol stag weekends may have to drink out of plastic glasses

Guys celebrating their friend's upcoming wedding with a stag weekend in Bristol, a stag weekend in Leeds or a stag weekend in Nottingham may soon have to drink their beer out of plastic glasses.

The Home Office has commissioned a new design to stop glasses being used as weapons, which may make lads on Bristol stag weekends, Nottingham stag weekends or Leeds stag weekends feel safer.

However, Neil Williams, from the British Beer and Pub Association, told the news provider that boys on a stag night in Nottingham or a stag party in Bristol will not like the idea, saying that revellers like the feel of glass in their hand.

"We would strongly resist a blanket approach that would add to costs and diminish the drinking experience in the thousands and premises that don’t need to do this. Instead, we should target the small minority of despicable individuals that use glass a weapon," he said.

Meanwhile, lads on a Leeds stag night, a Nottingham stag night or a Bristol stag night could soon serve themselves beer thanks to a new device called TableTap, which holds around three pitchers of ale and is fitted to tables in bars and pubs.
