Newquay airport 'upgrades luxury experience'

Holidaymakers flying in for a stag weekend in Newquay are in for a more luxurious experience following the opening of a new executive lounge at Newquay Cornwall Airport.

The new facility provides comfortable and relaxed seating for up to 24 people and travellers also have access to a range of hot and cold drinks and snacks.

Council leader Alec Robertson said he was delighted to open the new lounge and the development was also welcomed by the airlines that use the hub.

Mr Robertson commented: "This development marks another important stage in our plans to create a world class airport in Cornwall and I am sure that the new lounge will be well used."

Earlier this week, studies by Sainsbury's Travel Insurance found that those heading on a stag weekend in Blackpool, Bournemouth and other areas of the country are likely to be surrounded by people this summer because Brits are increasingly planning to go on holiday inside the UK.
