Newcastle "has the allure of a northern lass"

Those considering organising a stag weekend in Newcastle will find a place that is charming, vibrant and a little bit underrated, it has been claimed.

Phil Lutton, writing for theage.com.au, says the idea that the city is a dreary northern town is wide of the mark, with plenty of culture and entertainment to keep lads on a Newcastle stag weekend more than happy.

He asserts that it does not get the same heavy PR as London and other big cities but those who explore will find a place which is buzzing and locals who are friendly and funny.

"Newcastle has the exuberant allure of a confident northern lass, short of skirt but long on substance. For a pocket-sized city, she punches above her weight in terms of cultural attractions and proximity to some of England's most glorious countryside," Mr Lutton claims.

In other news, the Metro recently selected the best spots in the country to enjoy great surf, with Newcastle among the choices, those planning a stag party in Newcastle will be pleased to hear.
