Edinburgh "is one of the UK's top tourist destinations"

Guys who have decided to celebrate their mate's final few hours of freedom with an Edinburgh stag weekend have made a good choice as the city has been named one of the UK's top tourist destinations.

A survey by hotel chain Travelodge on the nation's favourite home holiday spots also included Cornwall and the Yorkshire Dales, lads planning a stag weekend in Newquay or a stag weekend in Leeds will be interested to hear.

The poll found that the number of Britons heading abroad for their jollies has fallen from 33 per cent in 2008 to 27 per cent in 2009, and of those staying at home, 40 per cent are planning a jaunt to the seaside, meaning lads on a Newquay stag weekend will have plenty of people to party with.

Paul Harvey, managing director the hotel chain, said Britain will be hit with native tourists looking for a good time.

"With the Met Office predicting glorious weather and a majority of holidaymakers looking to stay at home this year, UK resorts will be jam-packed with British tourists," he stated.

Meanwhile, The Midgie recently claimed that Edinburgh has several beaches which are worth exploring, lads heading on an Edinburgh stag weekend will be interested to hear.
