The Big One is "one of the world's great roller-coasters"

Lads on a stag weekend in Blackpool should make their way to the Pleasure Beach and have a go on The Big One, which has been described as one of the world's greatest roller-coasters.

Fred Mawer, from the Telegraph, listed the beach as one of the top places to visit for theme park fun, which may a good reason to have a stag weekend in Blackpool rather than London or Manchester.

"The Big One, [the] Pleasure Beach's towering landmark, is one of the world's great roller-coasters - just bear in mind that when the little old train reaches its 235-foot peak, you will feel far too vulnerable to enjoy the view," Mr Mawer said.

In addition, the 113-year-old amusement park boasts evening performances and crazy golf for people to enjoy, while the writer also recommends seeing the new Spectacular Dancing Water Show.

Meanwhile, boys planning a stag night in Blackpool in September can catch Welsh funnyman Rob Brydon, who starred in the BBC series Gavin and Stacey, at the Opera House on the 18th.
