Proprietor not in favour of Edinburgh stag party plans

A restaurant manager has expressed mixed views on plans to cut down the number of stag parties in Edinburgh.

Ann Allen, manager of The Lot, has told The Publican that she believes there is no need to ban Edinburgh stag weekends provided the groups are managed properly to allow everyone to have a good time.

Recently, local traders, police and councillors formed a coalition to help change the image of the Grasslands area of the city as one which is welcoming to families as well as stag parties.

However, Ms Allen told the publication that she is not behind the idea that lads should not be allowed to have stag parties in Edinburgh.

"I'm not personally in favour of banning anything if it can be managed properly and doesn't cause a problem, but everything is up for discussion," she stated.

The best man need not worry though as there are plenty of cities in the UK which promise a great time for all the lads.

Release Travel recently claimed that Bournemouth is a "stag party dream", with lots to see and do.
