The traditional last night of freedom has turned into a 3 or 4-day fun-filled bash that pretty much knows no bounds. If you're up for doing stuff during the day instead of simply getting smashed, you'll need to sort out an activity or two if you want to keep everyone in your group amused. It can be tricky trying to think of something that all your boys or girls can get involved in. That's where driving activities come in. You don't need to be in peak physical condition to get behind the wheel of a kart, buggy, or quad bike. You don't even have to be in possession of a driving licence to take part in some of the driving activities. That's what's so brilliant about them; anyone can join in regardless of experience behind the wheel. They're also suitable for a wide age range, which is another huge plus if you've got both friends and relatives coming along, some of whom might be in teens, and others of a slightly more mature age!

You could spend the morning zipping around on rage buggies, break for lunch and then get behind the wheel of a Landrover Discovery to see if you've got the skills to tackle muddy tracks, steep inclines, and sharp drops. A beast of a vehicle, this tough 4x4 is used by farmers for a good reason! Great fun to drive and with power that'll leave you longing to possess one; the Landrover Discovery is a giant amongst cars. A word of warning; once you've driven one, you won't want to go back to normality.

Up for some team games? Not all driving activities are about individuals going head-to-head to see who's the fastest round the track. Let's be honest; at some point everyone's fancied getting in a tank and ploughing through all oncoming obstacles. Especially true when you spend alot of time stuck in traffic jams on the M6, M1, or M25. You know what we're talking about! That's why mini tanks are so incredibly awesome. You get a taste of what it's like to drive the real thing without the hassle of finding a full-sized version. You'll be in teams racing against the clock to complete a course in a set time.

Hold your own micro battle and laugh like loons as you try and get the hang of driving with levers instead of gears and an accelerator. You may be surprised to find it doesn't exactly come naturally. Heard the buzz about rage buggies? If not, it's time you got in on the action. They've already found favour with the notoriously cynical Top Gear team, and were even voted the best off-road vehicle by the boys. See what all the fuss is about and spend an hour or two zooming around powered by a 600cc engine. Another team-friendly driving activity, rage buggies involve relays and timed races. If you love putting the old pedal to the metal and pushing a vehicle to high speeds, rage buggies are perfect for you.
Did you love pulling wheelies on your BMX as a kid? If so, check out powerturns and re-live the glory days of childhood, when your biggest concern was competing against your mates to see who could pull the highest and longest wheelie. Powerturns are twin-engine dragsters that are able to wheelie for long distances. You'll be set the challenge of navigating your way through a course as fast as possible. Go solo, or get a mate on board. Powerturns hold a driver and a passenger, so it's up to you. At the end of the session, the results from the leader board will be announced and you can find out who's king of the road once and for all. Anyone who doesn't like to take things too seriously will love the Wacky Races event. A right laugh, Wacky Races is all about daft driving antics and is the perfect way to round off an afternoon of competitive action on the track. Fans of the cartoon show will no doubt be smiling in fond remembrance right now! Wacky Races basically involves dinky quad bikes themed around all sorts of famous films and TV shows, including: Batman, The Dukes of Hazzard, and Back to the Future. Easy to drive and huge amounts of fun, these little gems are nothing short of ingenious.
You don't need to do a skydive or a bungee jump to get a real adrenaline rush. Driving activities give you a huge dose of excitement. Get over to Nottingham if you want to get your blood pumping and feel the adrenaline flowing. |
